Hi Lisa:

My name is Paula de Castro. I’m from Barcelona Spain and I’m living in Israel since April. I’m writing you because I had been reading your blog and I’m really interest about it. I’m a humanities and international relationships student and I find journalism the field where are can put both of them together.

I came to Israel because I have the opportunity to meet some journalist from different parts of the world that are working for Reuters, Associated press, BBC, etc. I was looking to do an internship or practice with them, but because of security policy of their companies, I couldn’t make it.

After reading your blog I was wondering if you would be able to meet with me about how your experience as a freelance journalist here in Israel. I’m living in Tel aviv for the next months. Therefore, if you would be able to meet with me to talk about your experience and about the journalism in Israel, I would be more than thankful and happy.

Hi Lisa,

I’m sure you already know, but in case you don’t I thought you might want to. So, Hossein Derakhshan has been arrested and is in jail in Iran since last November. I met him a few times and was quite shocked to discover this and feel like any online activism on the issue is being stopped (websites/links/petitions are all broken links).

Maybe you can write a follow up on this important, yet controvertial, blogger?
