Having fun while being interviewed

It’s not that I dislike being interviewed. It can be fun, sometimes. I am a bit egotistical about liking the sound of my own voice. Most of my friends indulge my weakness; those who don’t, get interrupted a lot (by me).

But the most fun I ever had during an interview was with Tamar’s friend Stephanie, who spoke to me last week, via Skype, from her home in rural Georgia (USA, not Stalin’s home turf). Meanwhile, I sat in the gorgeous flat Tamar was staying at while its owner, Susanne (whom I met at Savtadotty’s), was abroad.

I tried not to drool on Tamar’s Mac book. Which I covet (but cannot afford).

You would not expect a woman who lives on a cattle farm in Georgia to ask questions that are more astute and thoughtful than those posed by your average professional journalist, wouldja? Then again, you probably would not expect a woman who lives on a cattle farm in Georgia to be a hi-tech guru and an active member of Blogher, either.

Not for nothing did your mother teach you not to judge people according to preconceptions. You can read more about Stephanie on Tamar’s blog.

And you can listen to the podcast of our interview here.

  2. Thanks for not drooling on my MacBook and for being such a fabulous interviewee. I invite you and Stephanie to switch roles, with you as interviewer (in Tel Aviv) and Stephanie as interviewee (on her cattle farm in Georgia). Then, you get to ask the astute questions of this Georgian blogger, hi-tech guru, founding partner of two businesses, and creative player in the game of life. It’s a date?
