Needless to say, I'm entirely on your side on this one. You made a very good case as to why this law doesn't really make much sense (Israeli journalists could be abducted anywhere, not just enemy states), and is curtailing to the freedom of the press, thus making it contrary to some of the very basic tenets of Democracy. An excellent example that goes to one of my points - that there is a risk of abduction anywhere in the world. I was arrested 2 times at gun point - one time in Albania and one time in Kashmir (Indian part). Both times without further consequences. But you start to think.
