Dear Lisa,
as I learned today, a gig of DAM in Berlin caused some discussion in the German Jewish community. In September, DAM performed with Mooki & Piloni at the Jewish Cultural Days of the Jewish Community in Berlin. The same day, members of the community complained about the contents of the DAM songs and how it could be possible to let someone perform who wants to tear down the Jewish state of Israel and who says Jews = Nazis and stuff...
After reading your nextbook article and scrolling through the lyrics of DAM, I think that they basically didn't get the idea of DAM who (in my humble opinion) use their rage and their from time to time angry lyrics to provide an insight into the problems and feelings of Palestinians living in nowadays Israel.
I wrote a blogpost "Opposing the outcry of disgust with unagitatedness" about this misperception. As it is in German, I'm afraid there won't be too many ontheface readers for my blogpost :-(
Just wanted to let you know...
Take care, Jens

Unfortunately, this is yet another sign of the irredentist tendencies increasing in arab-israeli society. I feel that this kind of thing tends to increase tension, and is counter productive. I wouldn't buy any of their records soon...
